Blanche M. Lavoie April 14, 1915 - September 6, 2010 Taftville - Blanche M. Lavoie, 95, of 16 South B. St., died early Monday morning at Regency Heights of Norwich. She was born in Baltic on April 14, 1915 the daughter of the late Jospeh and Delia (Charron) Arpin. Blanche was employed as a textile worker at area textile mills and was last employed as a cafeteria worker at Wequonoc School in Taftville before retiring. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and the Rosary Society in Taftville Blanche was also a member of the Norwich Senior Citizens. On October 23, 1937 she married Edmond J. Lavoie at St. Mary's Church in Baltic who died on August 12, 1984. She is survived by three daughters, Beatrice Fratoni of Preston, Jeannette Small of Norwich and Diane M. Spicer of Taftville. Her daughter in law Carol Lavoie of Taftville. Three sisters, Beatrice Mason of Cincinnati, OH, Mel Tetreault of Baltic and Rita Coleman of Norwich. Eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son Arthur Lavoie, one great granddaughter, Shay Fratoni-Jaskiewicz, two sisters, Alice Andrew and Doris Arpin and one brother, Henry Arpin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville meeting directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Norwich. Calling hours at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 South B St., Taftville will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
