->Blanche Irene Robinson, 79, of New Albany, PA, passed away at the Memorial Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit of Towanda, PA. Blanche was born on January 22, 1931 in Towanda, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer W. and Elvira Merritt Lewis. On June 16, 1950, Blanche married Karl E. Robinson. She and Karl celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing on January 6, 2009. Blanche was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a member of the New Albany United Methodist Church, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Blanche loved playing cards and visiting with her family and friends, she and her late husband enjoyed being Santa and Mrs. Clause during the holiday season and visited many areas to bring a smile to the children's faces. Blanche was a volunteer for the New Albany Library and the UMC Rummage, and was on the Albany Twp. Election board. Blanche leaves surviving her children: Dale and Mary Ann Robinson of Harpursville, NY, Roxanne and David Wells, of New Albany, PA, Gila and Skip Dunn, of New Albany, PA; and by very special friends and relation: Ronnie and Carolyn Robinson; by grandchildren: Andrew and Jessica Finan of Dover, DE, Christopher Finan, of New Albany, PA; step-grandchildren: Autumn (Chris) Tinna of Wilkes Barre, PA, Thomas and Gretchen Robertson of Germany, Eric and Tina Robertson of Harpursville, NY; and by five step-great-grandchildren: Jacob, Morgan, Samantha, Mackenzie and Jaiden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; a son-in-law: Del Gilbert, and a brother-in-law: Daniel Dunham. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Brant, her pastor, officiating. A calling hour will be in the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany, PA.
