PARKER, BEVERLY ANN TOOL Beverly Ann Tool Parker, age 80 of Gainesville, FL passed away surrounded by her family at the E T York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville on Thursday February 17, 2011. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on January 24, 1931. Mrs. Parker worked at the University of Florida for 27 years where she started her career as the Secretary to the only two females to serve as the Dean of Women and concluded her career as a Continuing Education Coordinator at the University. During this time she also earned a Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Education, Specialist in Education, and a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Florida. She was active in her community where she was a member of the North Central Florida Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development, the Panhellenic Council, an Advisor for Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, Board of Certified Counselors, National Certified Counselors, Gainesville Area Women's Network, Member of the Planning Council, and The Better Breathers. She was a talented artist in oil and water color painting and exhibited her work in the Gainesville Spring Arts Festival and the Cedar Key Arts Festival. She was a loving wife and devoted mother of four sons, avid Gator fan and the best Mom & wife in the world. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Duke "Buddy" Parker, sons John Roberson Parker, Steven Hamilton Parker, Jeffrey Duke Parker, Charles Michael Parker, and sister Nancy Elizabeth Tool Rowe. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday February 21, 2011 in the Chapel in the Meadows located with Forest Meadows Central Cemetery 4100 NW 39th Avenue Gainesville, FL, where interment will follow.
