ANDERSON - Beulah (Olson) Anderson of Saskatoon passed away suddenly on December 4, 2008 two days after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born in Fosston Minn., December 2, 1908 to Ove and Oleanna Olson. In 1912 they moved to their homestead in south west Sask., 6 miles from where Frontier would be built. When she was 10 years old her mother died leaving her to help her Dad raise 4 younger brothers and sisters while attending Paradise Valley School 2 miles from her home. Her young adult years were spent helping her Dad, cooking for threshing crews and helping farm families in the Frontier and Bracken districts. In the early 40's she moved to Vancouver, B.C. where she did housework for prominent families. In February 1952 she married Arthur Anderson and moved to the Anderson farm at Hagan, Sask. where they farmed until they retired to Hepburn, Sask. in 1979. She moved to Saskatoon in 2004 where she took up residence at Quality Care Homes which was formerly Blanches Care Home. She thoroughly enjoyed the staff and wonderful care that she received while living there. She also enjoyed going to the Sherbrooke Community Day Program that she attended up until the time of her passing. Predeceased by her mother Oleanna in 1918, brother Gerald in 1927, father Ove February, 1957, sister Oriet September, 1984, husband Art in May, 1992, and brother Arnold October 31, 2005. Survived by sister Adora Nestegard of Calgary, Alta. and sister in law Grace Olson of Saskatoon plus 5 nieces and 5 nephews. Beulah loved to garden and cook Norwegian dishes. Beulah was very active and supportive of her churches and missions. She had many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hepburn Gospel Church. Funeral services will be held at Hepburn Gospel Church on Tuesday December 9, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment at Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
