Betty Williams TRENTON - Betty Williams, 88, of Titusville, NJ, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at the Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ. Born and raised in Lambertville, Betty and her late husband, Clarence "Bake" Williams, retired to the New Jersey shore in 1982, first to Ocean Beach and later to Normandy Beach. Betty moved to Titusville last year. For many years Betty worked as the bookkeeper for the Maplehurst Dairy on Belle Mountain, a family business owned by her father, Gideon B. Burd. Later Betty worked for the Lambertville Police Department as a special officer. For many years she served as the school crossing guard on the corner of York Street and North Main Street. An active member of the Kalmia Club of Lambertville, Betty had fond memories of dancing in a can-can line of Kalmia members for a Lambertville PTA fund raiser. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Fleetwing Volunteer Fire Company of Lambertville and the Ocean County Chapter of the Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Betty enjoyed her card clubs and crocheting. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence "Bake" Williams, who passed away last year after 70 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Beverly W. and Edward C. Crum of Titusville, and Bonnie L. and Douglas R. Barnett of Napa, CA; her grandchildren, David E. Crum and his wife, Julie, of Washington Crossing, PA, and Rebecca A. Crum of Titusville, and her brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Tina Pickett of Solebury, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ. Interment will follow at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday morning from 10:30 am until the start of services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's name may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Medical Center, 601 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08629.
