Williams, age 89 of Trenton, KY, passed away on December 5, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Louisville, KY, following a brief illness.She was born in Adams, TN, to William E. and Annie Batts Hornberger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Glover Williams, and her siblings, Billy Batts Hornberger, Louis Hornberger, and Cornelia Jane Woods. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson, David Owen Empson.Betty was a member of Trenton Baptist Church and served as a Trenton City Commissioner. She was a homemaker and active in community affairs for many years, and retired from Trane Co. in Clarksville, TN. Betty was beautiful both inside and out. She brought joy, laughter, and much wisdom to all she knew. Her home was always open for visitors to create cherished memories. She was very giving of her love to family and friends alike, and she loved her Lord and Savior.She is survived by her children, William Empson (Carolyn) of Trenton, KY, Ginger Pleasant (Earl) of Merritt Island, FL, and Kathie Curtis Hickey (Terry) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Kimberlee Curtis, Justin and Jessie Empson, and Danny and Kathleen Pleasant; step-granddaughter, Deanna Doris, and step-great-grandson, Jacob Doris. She is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.Her remains were cremated. A Memorial Celebration of Betty's Life will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Trenton Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Following interment in Edgewood Cemetery in Trenton, a pink dogwood will be planted in her memory at Bradley/Crusher Park in Trenton.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances take the form of a donation in her memory to the Edgewood Cemetery Fund, c/o Trenton City Hall, 111 S.
