Betty Williams January 18, 1924 March 13, 2011 Betty Williams, wife of Clarence and mother to Gar and Ken at the age of 87 passed away peacefully on March 13, 2011 at Spruce Manor Special Care Home in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clarence. She is also survived by her son Ken and granddaughters Shannon and Tess, her son Gar and his wife Marie-Anne and family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Wild, her only sister Mary and Mary's husband Roy Elliot, by her father and mother-in-law Ab and Dolly Williams and by her brother-in-law Ron Williams and his wife, Lil. Many special friends have also passed but always remembered fondly. Betty was born and raised on the homestead in Netherhill, Saskatchewan and after graduating Minor Lake School attended Normal School in Saskatoon. With this diploma she pursued her love of children and teaching at several one room schools in the Rosetown area. On July 15, 1950 Betty married Clarence Williams and has made Borden her home ever since. She was very close with her parents and sister Mary and her many special friends. Active in the United Church and United Church Women's Group as well as many other community events Betty was always smiling, cheerful and never disheartened from any adversity. Betty was a wonderful mother to her sons Gar and Ken, a determined and supportive wife to Clarence and a guide and example of all that was right and good for her family and all that knew her. Betty will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving ways. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Borden Care Home Box 155, Borden SK S0K 0N0. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Borden Community Centre, Borden SK with Gayle Wensley officiating.
