Betty Jean Stutts Smith, 74, of Killen, Ala., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Jennifer Beavers and Joe, Killen, Ala., Darlene Eaton, Killen, Ala.; sons, Mark Smith, Oxford, Miss., Macey Smith, Killen, Ala., Matthew Smith, Killen, Ala.; brother, L.J. Stutts, Muscle Shoals, Ala., 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by parents, Leonard Jacob and Venita (Neat) Thigpen Stutts; husband, Harold Dean Smith; son, Marty (J.J.) Smith; and grandson, Grant Smith.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Greenhill Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m.The family would like to thank Alacare Hospice for all the care they gave to our Mom.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.Greenhill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
