Betty Jo Smith, 75, of 301 Birchwood Lane, wife of Al Smith, died Monday, June 2, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Harris, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Reverend Morris and Lizzie Rumfelt Bridges. Mrs. Smith was retired from Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital and was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, JoAnn Henderson and her husband, Steve, of Inman; a sister, Zip Arledge of Boiling Springs; two grandchildren, Jason Henderson and his wife, Kimberly, of Inman, and Matthew Henderson of Inman; a stepdaughter, Alicia Allwine of Simpsonville; and a stepson, Brian Smith and his wife, Kaye, of Williamston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell D. Bridges. Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2009, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Five Forks Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence.
