BETTY J. SMITH - CAPE CANAVERAL - Betty J. Smith, 85, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at The Health Center of Merritt Island. The second child of Charles and Carrie Black, originally from York, PA. Betty worked many years at the Prince Georges County Library in Hyattsville, MD. She loved horses, long walks on the beach, bingo and building puzzles. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Kern Smith and daughter, Ivy Kraidy. Betty leaves behind daughter, Linda Cook (John); and son, Scott Smith (Linda); two sisters, two brothers, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Our "Betty Boop", with her gentle, sweet nature was loved very much and will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Cocoa Beach Community Church, 126 S. Atlantic Ave., on Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family in sharing precious memories of their loved ones life.
