UntitledBETTY SMITH1943-2008Betty Smith, age 64, of Pensacola passed away on February 20, 2008 in the care of Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital after a 3 ½ year battle against ovarian cancer. Betty's love and compassion touched everyone she came in contact with. Her gift of hospitality and her ability to lend a listening ear to friends and family was the gift that God blessed her with and, thankfully, she shared it freely with others. We celebrate the time God gave her to us and we will deeply miss her friendship and love. She spent her life rejoicing in the service of others by teaching Sunday school, leading youth groups and singing in the choir.Many businesses will remember Betty as the welcoming voice of Florida Air Condition. She and her husband, Julian have owned and operated Florida Air for the past 24 years. We rejoice that she has left her cancer filled body and is now singing with the Saints in Heaven and we look forward to the day when we can all be reunited. Her 47 year long marriage was a testament to the fruitfulness of a Christ centered life. She is survived by a loving and robust family including her husband, Julian; her son, Terry Lee Smith and his wife Tammy; her daughter, Lisa Korade and her husband Brett; her four grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Evan and Matthew; and her mother Bessie Braswell, (father, Jeff is deceased). Brothers and sisters include Buddy (Cleo) Braswell, Roger (Kathy) Braswell, Tom (Pat) Braswell and Glenda (David) Combie.Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Farm Hill United Methodist Church in Cantonment with Brother John Kuritz officiating.Interment will follow at Farm Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m.In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O.
