REID, Betty On Sunday, October 10, 2004, Mrs. Betty Reid of Vermilion passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at the age of 81 years. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 64 years, George; her children, Isobel (Jack) Seewalt of Vermilion, Elizabeth Purcell of Edmonton and Georgette Gamble (Tom Taylor) of Okotoks; her grandchildren, Lisa Kochan, Samantha and Brandy Gamble; great-grandchildren, Carly and Jamie Kochan; and her special niece Frances (Bill) Gordon and her family, Bill Jr. (Sandy), Henry, Emily, Will and Keith (Tracy). Betty was born in Keith, Scotland on December 25, 1922, the youngest of twelve children. Betty and George were married on December 30, 1939. They immigrated to Canada in 1948. At Betty's request, no Funeral service will be held. Her ashes will be laid to rest in Keith, Scotland at a later date. Betty's family would like to thank Dr. Gerber, Colleen Willes and the staff of the Vermilion Health Centre for their wonderful care of Betty over the past few years. Memorial Donations may be made to the Friends of the Vermilion Health Centre, the Alberta Lung Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
