Betty Peters Brown Once upon a time in the early morning of Nov. 15, 1943, a little bright-eyed baby girl was born to Mary and Nathan Peters in Port St. Joe, Fla. They called this beautiful fifth-born child, Bettye. She remained beautiful inside and out throughout her journey on earth. Bettye was accomplished in many things but her greatest asset was her gift of love.She shared this gift with the young, old, rich and poor, and she was most especially a compassionate sister and friend. She leaves her story with her devoting, caring and loving husband, John W. Brown; dedicated daughters Karen Brown-Allen and Miriam (Jarron) Brown-Worlds; grandchildren Carla Allen and Dakota Worlds; brothers and sisters Edward L. Peters, Helen D. Brooks, Linda Dorsey Peters, Lenora Peters Gant, Nathan Peters, Jr., Contance P. Jones, Raymond P. Peters, James Samuel Peters and Sabrina Malone; sisters-in-law Tommie Lee Davis and Betty Ann Howard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and sorrowing friends.The wake service for Mrs. Bettye P. Brown will be from, 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 22, at the Hamilton County Complex (the old Hamilton County high school) in Jasper, Fla. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at New Bethel AME Church, Jasper, Fla., the Rev. Jeffery Dove pastor. However, the Rev. Ron Rawls will officiate.Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Eric A. Brown of Combs Funeral Home, Lake City (386-752-4366) is in charge of professional mortuary services.
