HARRIS Betty Marie, 74 of Paterson, NJ for most of her life. She departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2007. She was born in Bloomingdale, NJ. Mrs. Harris retired after 40 years of Nursing which included Staffing and Clinical Supervision. Mrs. Harris was the First African American Nurse to graduate from the Paterson General Nursing School. She was a member of Prophetic Church of God in Paterson, NJ where she was a member and sang in the NJ State Choir. She was a member of the NAACP and an advocate for Breast Cancer Walks for Wanda's Team in Paterson, NJ. She is the beloved wife of Rev. Thomas C. Harris; the mother of Thomas, Michael, Brenda Harris and Elaine Harris Jefferson; the daughter of the late Arthur Kennedy Sr. and Hilda Van Dunk; the sister of Alida Crouch, Gloria Brown, Marian Redmon and the late Edgar Van Dunk, Arthur Kennedy Jr., Joyce Milligan and Norvan Van Dunk; the grandmother of Allen D. Jefferson Jr., Andrew T. Jefferson, Stephanie and Julia Harris, Endi Dabney and Susan Gruppenhoff; the great-grandmother of Christopher Holmes, Aiden Joshua Jefferson and Keith Gruppenhoff; the faithful friend of Lois Deyo; the mother-in-law of Allen Jefferson Sr., Ann Harris; the beloved Godmother of Quajay, Indigo and Jordan Donnell, Iasha, Zaire Harris, Jocelyn Harris, Yvonne Alexander and Regina Harris McNeal; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors. Services: Monday, June 25, 2007 at 12 Noon, Prophetic Church of God, 123 No. 5th Ave., Paterson, NJ. Entombment: Laurel Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Carnie P.
