Betty Mae Johnson Henderson died June 5, 2009, at Heartland Hospice of Conyers, Ga., surrounded by her family. She was born in Savannah, Ga., January 3, 1925, to Kenneth P. Johnson and Mae Lewis Johnson. She was raised in Savannah and attended school there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Henderson. Survivors are her daughter, Sandra Nelson (William Nelson) of Conyers. Also survivors are four grandchildren, Jay, Amanda, Paige and Jordan. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Doris Akins of Statesboro. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending.
