POWER, Betty - The family announces with sorrow Betty's sudden passing on Saturday March 7th, 2009, at the Timmins and District Hospital, one week before her 87th birthday. Beloved wife of the Late Thomas Power. Loving mother of Eddie (Grace) of B.C., Barry (Carol) of Newmarket, Murray (Martina) of Schumacher, Deborah (Mike Fournier) Power of Welland. Treasured grandmother of Tommy, Ojistoh, Tammy, Nicole and Jackie. Great grandmother of Brydon, Jordon, Jeremiah, Sarah and Holly. Great- great grandmother of 9. Betty leaves behind her sister Lucille Moyle of Toronto. Aunt of Judy Grant of South Porcupine, Late Lawrence Grant & Late Vicky Grant, Deby Moyle (Grant Young) of Belleville and their children Alicia & Robert; Glenn (Yvonne) Moyle of Edmonton and their children Kyle & Jocelynn; Michael (Cindy) Moyle of Belleville and their child Rebecca; Brenda Moyle of Toronto and her children Garrett & Matthew; Terry (Kathy) Moyle of St. Catharines and their child Connal. She was predeceased by her parents Florence & Dick Mitchell and by her sister Evelyn (George) Grant. Betty was born in Cornwall, England and had been a resident of South Porcupine since 1925. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in South Porcupine. In her earlier years she was the Superintendent of the South Porcupine United Church Sunday School. Betty taught us all how to make pasties Remembrance donations made through the Funeral Home to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. A Funeral Service in honour of Betty will be held at Stinson Funeral Home on Tuesday March 10th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Cindy Desilets officiating, accompanied by organist/soloist Chantal Delorme.
