Betty Marie Mitchell, 82, Aldrich, died Friday, July 7, 2006, in Citizens Memorial Hospital. The daughter of Henry Clarence and Anna Shell Tygart, she was born in Aldrich on July 12, 1923. Betty and Marion A. Mitchell were married August 3, 1941. Marion preceded her in death on September 16, 2000. A 1941 graduate of Aldrich High School, she worked as a nurse in area nursing homes and for 20 years as a nurse in the newborn nursery at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was involved in the activities of her children serving as a 4-H leader and as president of the Fair Play P.T.A. She was a member of the Aldrich United Methodist Church. Surviving are six children, Ronald Mitchell and wife, Nancy, Bolivar, John Mitchell, Germany, Jim Mitchell and wife, Linda, Kansas City, Don Mitchell and wife, Carolyn, Willard, Kathi Frye and husband, Bob, Springfield, and Karel Jeffries and husband, Mark, Carthage two sisters, Frances Redman and husband, Earl, Bolivar, and Mary Lee Moore, Redlands, Calif. three brothers, Johnny Bob Tygart and wife, Sarah, Sedalia, Billy Joe Tygart and wife, Sandra, Seligman, and Shell Tygart, Yucaipa, Calif. 19 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren one great-great-grandd a u g h t e r and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, in Aldrich United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Hendrickson and Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Aldrich United Methodist Church Building Fund or the charity of the donor's choosing.
