Betty Lou Mitchell, age 70, of Lula, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Junior Jones and the Rev. Hoyt Skelton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 5, 2012, from 6–9 p.m. and Friday, April 6, 2012, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at the funeral home.Mrs. Mitchell was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Claude Collins and Lois Abernathy Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Junior Mitchell; two of her brothers, Jimmy and Jack Collins; and her grandson, Chad Eller.
