KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Betty Lou Ballard, 80, of Kansas City, formerly of Wolfeboro, N.H., died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in North Kansas City. She was born June 16, 1931, to Charles W. and Elma (Cox) Palmer in Cincinnati, Ohio, and reared in Bowling Green, Ky. Betty graduated from Bowling Green College of Commerce and began teaching business in Portsmouth, Va. She married H. Parker Ballard, and they moved frequently during their marriage. She retired from teaching in Hopatcong, N.J., and the couple moved to Wolfeboro, N.H., in 1993. Parker died in 1995, but Betty remained in Wolfeboro and was active in Newcomers and Wolfeboro Senior Citizens. She moved to Kansas City in 2011. Betty is survived by her daughter, Elna Cox (Chris) of Kansas City; a granddaughter, Alissa Correll (Matt) of Overland Park, Kansas.; and two grandsons, Justin Cox of St. Louis, and Evan Cox of Kansas City.
