Betty L. Miller, 69, Shingleton, Mich., and Parrish, died March 5, 2003. She was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Swaggart, Ill., and came to Manatee County in 1991 from Lansing, Mich. She retired in 1991 as a secretary for the Lansing School District. She was past president and still active with the Lansing Schools Secretarial Association. She was a Methodist. Survivors include her husband, Allen; daughters Lorrie McNary of Bath, Mich., Connie Larson of Kingsford, Mich., and Sherri Yost of Kalamazoo, Mich.; stepdaughters Amanda Howe of Gwinn, Mich., Carole Stalhood of Jackson, Mich., and Pamela of Lansing; sons Steven Herrmann of Saline, Mich., James Herrmann of Clarkston, Mich., and Jeffrey Herrmann of Lansing; sisters Vada Baker of Chicago and Zella McKittrick of Aurora, Ill.; brothers Lester Ferguson of Dwight, Ill., Herbert Ferguson of San Diego and Kenneth Ferguson of Pensacola; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. No visitation is scheduled. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Parrish United Methodist Church. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Avenue Chapel, is in charge.
