SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Betty Joyce Smith, 73, will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Sam Walker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Smith died Nov. 9, 2009, at Brookwood Medical Center. Survivors are a daughter, Mevalyn Joy Benzel and husband James of West Palm Beach, Fla.; son, Markel Dwight Smith and wife Kimia of Sylacauga; brother, Roger Chandler of Alexander City; grandchildren, Jeremy Dwight Green, James William Benzel, Michael Thomas Benzel, Stevie Smith Blair and husband Casey Michael Blair, Clee Dwight Smith and wife Brandy Goodson Smith; and great-grandchildren, Hayden A. Blair, Madyson L. Smith, and Mayson C. Smith. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 13, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.curtisandsonfh.com.
