Wheeler, Betty Josephine (VanAlstine)of Hornby, New York went to be with the Lord Friday March 16, 2012.She was born August 3, 1943 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Dewitt and Betty (Rogers) VanAlstine. On March 1, 1997 Betty married Delos Wheeler. She was the love and support of Delos's life. She worked for many years as a home health aide. She loved to dance, go camping with family, and loved and cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Betty had a heart of gold and touched so many lives with her loving kindness. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed by so many.She is survived by her husband, Delos Wheeler; sons: Robert (Beth) VanDusen and Christopher (Sarra Gauss) VanDusen; daughters: Dawn (Clarence Stevenson) VanDusen, Candace (Edward) Buchanan, Marilea (Trevor) Stull and Holly (Roy Gilbert) Smith; special sister and best friend, Sandra (Donald) Gee, sisters; Karen (James) Tidewell, Pauline (Ron) Davenport and brother, Dewitt (Charmayne) VanAlstine; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friend, Ruth Barnes.Betty is predeceased by her parents; son, Jonathon VanDusen; grandsons, Michael VanDusen and Anthony VanAlstine; granddaughters, Betty and Holli Smith.Calling hours will be held Wednesday March 21, 2012 from 11:00am - 1:00 pm, followed immediately by the funeral service at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 West Pulteney St., Corning, NY.
