<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Betty J. Reid left this life as she lived it: trusting in the Lord and reflecting his presence. She went home to be with Him on March 6, 2014. Betty was born in Alabama City, Al and a current resident of Warrior, Al. She was a graduate of Ensley High School and a long time member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church where she served as the SS secretary and a member of the WMU. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Dora Russell; sister, Barbara Clark; 1 grandson and a great-granddaughter. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Raymond S. Reid, Jr.; children, Raymond S. Reid III (Dee), David L. Reid (Marsha), Kathy L. Brooks (Mike) and Johnny B. Reid (Jeanne); brother, Rev. Wallace W. Russell; sister, Patricia Wright; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A funeral service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00am officiated by, Pastor Toby Shedd, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Smoke Rise Baptist Church, mission projects.
