Betty Jean Smith, 75, from Port St. Joe, Fla., passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011.Betty was born on Dec. 19, 1935, in Panama City, Fla., to the late Hubert LeeTaylor and the late Henrietta Stanley Taylor. Ms. Betty worked for 30 years sewing fishing nets for Raffields Fisheries,Ward Fisheries sewing fish nets in Port St. Joe and also worked for James Copland sewing shrimp nets in Apalachicola. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years Bobby Jean Smith; her loving children, Harry Bridges of Port St. Joe, Fla.; Jerry Huckeba and wife, Peggy of Texas; Joyce Ann and husband, Greg Phillips of Panama City, Fla.; Tina Roland of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Alexander of Panama City, Fla.; Ann and Husband Jake Carter of Panama City, Fla.; three brothers, Steve Taylor of Panama City, Fla.; Clifford Taylor of Panama City, Fla.; and Paul Taylor and wife, Vera of Milton, Fla. She also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, Gary Bridges and wife, Ashley of Hosford, Fla.; Jeffrey Mullis of Wewahitchka, Fla.; and JJ Roland of Panama City Fla. Memoriolization will be through cremation as was per Betty's request.The family would like to send a special Thank You to all the friends and family that visited Betty during her lengthy illness.
