Memorial service for Betty Jean Jackson, 87, Herbert Street, Port Orange, who passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Oakwood Garden of DeLand, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, in the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange, corner of Dunlawton Avenue and Orange Avenue, with the Rev. Kim Joyner officiating. Mrs. Jackson was born in Slipperty Rock, Pa., and had lived here since 1950, coming from Washington, Pa. She retired after 15 years as a sales clerk for TG & Y Department Store, Port Orange. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange. Mrs. Jackson is survived by three daughters, Holly, and her husband, Gerald Matthews, Orange City, Suzy Jackson, Winter Park, and Kathy Streichert, Titusville; five grandchildren, Robert Matthews, April Matthews, Shaun Matthews, Allison Streichert and Brandon Streichert; and two great-grandchildren, Courtney Matthews and Hannah Matthews.
