BROWN, BETTY JEAN, 69Ocala - Mrs. Betty Jean Brown, age 69, custodian for Marion County School Board, transitioned peacefully on January 18, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Ocala, Florida. She was born in Ocala, Florida. She was a member of the graduating Class of 1963 of Howard High School. She was a retired custodian of 33 years for Marion County Schools. She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she was Chairperson of the Deaconess Board and treasurer of the Pastors Aide Committee. She enjoyed trying new recipes and shopping. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Jacobs, Ocala, Florida; sisters Sadye Roscoe, Baltimore, MD., Lela Jenkins, West Palm Beach, Florida, Rosemary Redding, Ocala, Florida; brother Jimmy Stinson, Ocala, Florida; grandchildren: Carey Majors IV, Phoenix, AZ Chaz Majors, Montgomery, Alabama Chasity Majors, Ocala, Florida; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Brown; and parents, Sam and Odessa Stinson. Viewing for Mrs. Betty Jean Brown will be Friday at Summers Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Brown age 69, custodian, will be held on Saturday, January 25,2014 at 2:00 P.M. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 728 Northwest 6th Avenue Ocala, Florida 34475 with Reverend Bruce Chapman, Pastor Conducting the Services. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Gardens Ocala, Florida under the care of Summers Funeral Home 2238 N.W. 10TH Street Ocala, Florida. Visitation at the Church is at 1 p.m. until time of service.
