Betty Anderson passed away on Friday, November 24, 2006, in McLean, Virginia, after an extended illness. Beloved mother of the late John C. Anderson, Eugene, Ore.; loving mother of Mary Anderson Shupack, McLean, Va.; Andrea Anderson Weber, Wellesley, Mass.; and Lex S. Anderson, Tulsa, Okla. Betty is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty devoted her life to raising her children and helping others. After living in Springfield for more than 60 years, she moved to Vinson Hall, McLean, Va., in 1992. Betty's ashes will be returned to Springfield for a private burial in the National Cemetery next to her husband, the late Ralph "Andy" Anderson.
