A native of Garden City, AL, she was born to Arthur and Wavey Price on Nov. 15, 1928. She married Billy R. Brown in December 1950 and was a 1951 graduate of the University of Alabama. The Interment will be at City Cemetery in Garden City, AL on Friday, March 4, 2011. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Monticello at a later date. TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553) is serving the family.Over the past sixty years, she successfully pursued a career as an outstanding housewife and mother to her two sons while residing in numerous military bases and towns in the U.S. and overseas, including Alaska, Japan and Taiwan.In her leisure time, she enjoyed bridge, bowling and music. She sang in church choirs and community choruses as a member and soloist; she also gave her singing talent to the Starlight Opera in Birmingham, AL. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of sixty plus years, Billy Brown; sons, Michael and Robert Brown; and two grandsons, Jonathan and Alexander Brown.Memorials contributions may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church, Monticello or to the Wesley Foundation, University of Alabama where the couple first met.
