Betty Jane Smith, age 83, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, at her home. She was born November 2, 1925, in Springfield, Mo., to Otto and Agnes (Myrberg) Young. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield. She owned and operated Rex Smith Propane with her husband, Rex Smith, who preceded her in death in 1976. Her parents Otto and Agnes Young; and a special friend Frank Wadlington preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Richardson and husband Ken, of Springfield, Mo.; and a son Gary Smith, of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jeremy Smith and Alex Smith. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2009, at Smith Cemetery in Rogersville, Missouri.
