Betty Jane Bagley Johnson passed away at home in Silver City, New Mexico on March 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin W. Johnson. She is survived by her children and grandchildren-Dr. Carl E. Johnson and Cathy Johnson and their sons, Gregory and Garret of Boxford, David W. Johnson and Cindy Johnson and their sons, Gregory and Scott, Dr. Bruce M. Johnson and Debra Johnson and their sons, Andrew and Trevor, Susan E Mistretta and F. David Mistretta, Marjorie A. Johnson and her daughter, Lisa, Dr. Timothy R. Johnson and Cathy Johnson and 17 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Bagley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Mildred Bagley, her sister Laura Aseniero, and her brother, William Bagley, who was killed in action in World War II. Betty Jane was born in Gainesville, Texas. She served in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II and following graduation from the Northwestern School of Nursing, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Betty worked as a Public Health nurse in the Indian Service in Tallaheena, Oklahoma. Betty Jane was a wonderful wife, loving mother and devoted friend. She lived an extraordinary life. She was laid to rest beside her dear husband and best friend, Mel, in the Fort Bayard National Cemetery, Fort Bayard, New Mexico. She will be sorely missed.
