BETTY JANEANDERSON, 88 LAKELAND - Betty Jane Anderson, 88, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 22, 2013, as a result of natural causes. Mrs. Anderson was born May 23, 1925 in Rockford, IL. She and her family moved to Lakeland in 1987. She was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church at the Mall. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Donald Anderson and her loving daughter, Sonia May. She is survived by her son, Bill Anderson; daughter, Cynthia "Cindi" Hoefke; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nephew, Bob Carlson; numerous other nieces and nephews; special friends, Tom and Shirley Sample and Jim Day; and many brothers and sisters in Christ. Mrs. Anderson's family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 10-11am at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. A celebration of her life will follow at 11am with Pastor Jerry Goodell officiating. Interment will be conducted privately at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
