BETTE JOHNSON-of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully with family be her side on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Catherine Holmes and her sister, Dorothy Robson. She is survived by her daughters: Barb (Jack) Ross, Betty An (Scott) Chalmers of Moose Jaw, and sons: Bob (Gail) Johnson of Black Creek, B.C., Ken Johnson of Regina and Dale Johnson of Calgary, as well as eleven grandchildren: Bonnie (Paul) Smith, Brian (Mandy) Ferguson, Virginia Bagshaw, Crystal and Cherie Johnson, Jonathon, Jillian an Stephanie Ross, Holly, Pam and David Johnson, as well as eight greatgrandchildren. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba October 24, 1921, and moved to Prince Albert at an early age. She married Scottie Johnson in 1943 at the end of the Second World War. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1946 and lived on a dairy farm in the Cobourg district where she resided for twenty-five years. Bette then worked for the Moose Jaw Co-Op for many years retiring in 1986. She was a life member of the United Church Women and a member of the Fidelis Unit of Zion United Church. She was also a member of the Cobourg Ladies Friendship Group and over the years was very much involved with 4-H, Moose Jaw Concert Society and Moose Jaw Toastmistress Club. Bette moved to Chez Nous in 1996 where she lived for eight years and then moved to Providence Place. A Celebration of Bette's Life will b held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church. Linda Owens will officiate. Memorialization will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360-2nd Ave., Regina, Sask., S4R 1A6.
