Betty J. Miller, 78, Ruthbern Road, Daytona Beach, a certified nursing assistant at Bow-man's Health Care Center, Ormond Beach, before her retirement, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at her home. Betty was born in Hudson, N.Y., and moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1954 from Elmira, N.Y. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include her son, Jay Miller, Daytona Beach; three daughters, Betty LaVictoire, Lake Como; Mary Buley, Port Orange, and Christina Miller, Middleburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memories are her extended family, the Strong and Lewis families, both of Edgewater; and very special friend, Kathy Beamer, Daytona Beach, who provided for her care. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "J.R." Miller, in 1992; and a son, John Miller, in 1960. Graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Ormond Beach with Craig Portwood of Tomoka Christian Church, Ormond Beach, officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.
