BETTY J. BOONEBetty J. Boone was born September 17, 1949 to Tom R. and Rosa (A-ndrew) Johnson in Bullock County. She grew up in a Christian family and accepted Christ at an early age united with Mt. Silla Baptist Church.She departed this life on December 14, 2003.Funeral services will be held Satur-day, December 20, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Mt. Silla Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Major E. Whitlow, pas-tor and Rev. Artis Martin, officiating. Interment will follow in Mason Ce-metery.The caring staff of Carter Funeral Home will direct all services.She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Tevia Boone, Union Springs and Wyetha Johnson, Perry, GA; five sisters, Ernestine Harvey (Larry), Hollis, Long, Island, NY, Ruby Fields (Jack), N. Carolyn Jones (John) and Christine Daniels (Eric), Barbara Green, preceded her in death, all of Union Springs; five grandchildren, Tevin, Deme-treya, Torrian, LaChristunta, Shato-ria and unborn baby girl; two half brothers, Wllie L. Johnson, Cleve-land, OH and Tommy Moore, Co-lumbus, GA; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; special friends of the family, Tommy Benton and Dallas Lattimore; devoted caregiv-ers, Associated Home Health staff.Betty touched the lives of many, all of whom were inspired by her love, wisdom, laughed, words, smartness and kindness. These memories alone shall never be forgotten.Ms. Boone will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until funeral hour.
