Betty Lou Campbell Brown, 78, of 3275 East Gap Creek Road, died Sept. 12, 2003, at her home.A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Alex and Tallie Center Campbell, she was a retired employee of Stone Mfg., a member of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 22 years. Mrs. Brown was known as "Mom" to all of her friends.Surviving are her husband, James Edgar Brown, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Brown and Joe Dillard, of Inman, Wanda Brown and Rick Penland, of Travelers Rest, and Kathy Brown and Pat Roberts, of Roebuck; sons and daughters-in-law, James Eulon and Patricia Brown, of Duncan, and Roger and Mary Ann Brown, of Iron Station, N.C.; three sisters, Genelle Dill, of Greer, Elsie Barnett, of Landrum, and Earline Stokes, of Greer; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two special nephews, Michael Stokes and Myron Stokes.Mrs. Brown was predeceased by three brothers, Russell Campbell, Samuel "Jake" Campbell and Troy Campbell; and two sisters, Ida Stokes and Lois Bramlett.Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Stone and Dr. Drew Hines. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Richie Penland, Chad Brown, David Gay, Sam Beason, Tyler Gay, Derrick Cox, Michael Stokes and Myron Stokes.Honorary escort will be the Gleamers Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Club of Ebenezer Baptist Church.Visitation will be held 7 to 9 tonight at The Wood Mortuary.Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church Building Fund, 800 Highway 414, Landrum, SC 29356 or Hospice of Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.The family is at the home.
