Funeral for Betty Anne Elkins Williams, 74, of Mount Hope was to be today, March 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rick Elrod and Dr. Charles Coffey officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.Burial was to be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1929, in Tennessee to Hubert Elkins and Pearl Martin Elkins. She was a member of Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Williams and her husband owned and operated Mount Hope Gin Co. for 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a host of friends and love for her church and community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Neal Williams.Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Anderton, Amy Rutherford, and Gloria Smith, all of Mount Hope; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were to be Harold Martin, Allen Pickens, Gene Pickens, Allen Counts, Thomas Counts, Jim Nolen, Bill Elkins and Ed Young. Honorary pallbearers were to be John Smith, Jamie Rutherford, Steven Harville, Brandon Borden and Tyler Counts. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation.
