It is with deep sadness that we announce that Betty Ann Johnson (nee Johnson) has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Mom suffered another stroke which was life altering and died peacefully on February 2, 2017 at the age of 83.Mom was a wonderful Mother, devoted Grandmother, beloved Aunt and great Friend. She was devoted to her family and her church.Mom loved life and was always up to go anywhere and do anything. She enjoyed traveling and visited such places as Australia, Europe, Israel and the United States. She was actively involved in Christian Women''s club and attended various bible studies. She enjoyed doing ceramics and other crafts. She taught Sunday School and bowled for many years. She earned her Bronze Medallion in swimming and then taught swimming lessons. She continued to swim approximately 60 laps 3 times a week until a broken arm in her late 70''s slowed her down.Mom''s memory will live on in her children: Mark (Nancy) Johnson, Scott Johnson, Darren Johnson and April (Darrell) Pitts and their father Elmer Johnson. As well as in her grandchildren: Christopher (Angela) Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Megan Pitts, Bryce Pitts and Jasmine Johnson and her great grandchildren: Austin and Casey Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Andrew Brooks as well as her siblings: M. Waring (Phyllis) Johnson, Alice (Larry) Sumner, and Charlie (Ethel) Johnson.We take comfort that she is giving Jesus one of her famous hugs. A celebration of her life will be held at Evangelical Free Church 28 Westland Road, Okotoks on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Samaritans Purse.To email condolences please visit www.snodgrassfuenralhomes.com.
