Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Smith, 87, formerly of 4878 S. Salina Street, passed away Monday at Forest View at Fayette. Born in Malone, she was the daughter of the late Francis C. and Florence E. (King) Smith. Betty was a graduate of Percy Hughes High School and worked as a mail clerk at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church. Betty had cerebral palsy and went to the Cerebral Palsy Clinic. She was amazingly independent considering her disability and she had a great sense of humor. She did ceramics at the Salvation Army and made many wonderful pieces for all of her family. She also loved to take pictures and made many photo albums and family memories. Betty is survived by her sister, Natalie Fadden of Baldwinsville; eight nieces and nephews, Linda (Tim) McNulty of Santa Cruz, CA, Karen Andreassi of Liverpool, David Andreassi of Bozeman, MT, Donna (Dan) Sheehan of Syracuse, MaryJo (Tim) Winters of Liverpool, Maureen (Mike) McConnell of Onondaga Hill, Teresa (Tony) Dorris of Marco Island, FL and Marilyn (Will) Prigge of Marco Island, FL; 21 great-nieces and nephews and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald K. Smith. Betty's family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care and kindness by the staff at Forest View at Fayette. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse with a funeral service to immediately follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
