BROWN, Betty A., 65, of Safety Harbor, died Friday, May 21, 2004 in Tomsriver, N.J., while visiting family with her husband, Robert. Born in Waterloo, Iowa, she moved to Pinellas county 16 years ago from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mrs. Brown was a retired mortgage underwriter and enjoyed sewing, traveling, and walking. She was a member and Euchoristic minister at Espiritu Santo Catholic Chuch, and volunteered at the Mease Countryside Hospital, both in Safety Harbor. Surviving family includes her husband, Robert E. Brown of Safety Harbor, and his children, Robert Brown Jr., Susan Casaceli, Tracy Brown-Daly, and Tom Brown; and eight grandchildren; her children, Cheryl Vergo of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Diane Austin of Safety Harbor, and Karen Barnana of Tampa; five grandchildren; also two brothers, David and Dan Hageman. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church with entombment at Syvlan Abbey Memorial Park. The family will gather with their fri ends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m., and concluding the evening with a reciting of the rosary.
