<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Beth DavisFairfield, CTBeth Davis left this world peacefully on May 31, 2014 at the young age of fifty-seven. She left it a better place than when she entered it in Nashville, Tennessee on September 14, 1956. She was at home in Fairfield, CT when she passed, surrounded by her loving family: Drew, Emma, Andy, and Corrie. Beth was at her very happiest when with her family. Beth's pure essence was love. Love of her beautiful children, Emma and Drew. Love of her adoring husband, Andy. Love of her lucky dog, Corrie. And love of her many wonderful friends. To have known Beth is to love her. Beth lived and loved to help others. She was content when helping people she knew, and when helping people she didn't know. She never wanted recognition for anything she did. And she did so much. She left the biggest piece of her giving soul at the Mercy Learning Center. She was a tutor at Mercy for a decade, as well as serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Beth Davis Scholarship Fund was created to recognize her leadership there. She also served as Chairman of the President's Council of the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center. She led and helped organize countless fundraising events for both of these wonderful organizations and for many others. Perhaps her favorite event was the annual Rose of Hope Tennis Tournament, which she created and ran for ten years. She was president of the Dwight School PTA, General Coordinator of the construction of the Sandcastle Playground, a frequent volunteer at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church Dogwood Festival, an active member of the Brown University Alumni Club... the list is long. Beth graduated from Harpeth Hall in Nashville in 1974. She graduated from Brown University in 1978, and from the Thunderbird School, where she studied international business management, and met her future husband, in 1979. Beth is survived by her daughter, Emma Gleeman; her son, Drew Gleeman; and her husband, Andy Gleeman. She is also survived by her sister, Anne and brother, Joe, both of Nashville, and her sister, Pat of Great Falls, VA. Beth is predeceased by her mother, Dugan and father, Rascoe, both from Nashville. A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 2 p.m., at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield, CT. Interment will be private. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m., in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT. Contributions in Beth's honor may be made to the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport, CT and the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield, CT.
