Citrus WorldLAKE WALES -- Mrs. Bessie Lee Johnson of Lake Wales died of heart failure Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) at her daughter's home in Lauderhill. She was 83.Born in Malone on Nov. 17, 1942, she came to Lake Wales from there 60 years ago. She was a retired machine operator for Citrus World. She was a member of Mount Zion Progressive Baptist Church.Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Marshall, Lauderhill, Cynthia McKay, Carolyn Johnson, both of Lake Wales, Linda Johnson, Avon Park; sons, Roosevelt Davis, Winter Haven, Ulysess Davis, Bridgeport, Conn., Ronald Johnson, Lake Wales, Hayden Marshall, Lauderhill; sister, Nobie McKay, Malone; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home, 971 U.S. 27 N., Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Progressive Baptist Church, 12 B St., Lake Wales.
