Funeral service for Bertram Robert Lee, 92, Sunset Boulevard, Holly Hill, who died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, with Dr. Walter E. Monroe Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be Friday in Montclair, N.J. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home. Mr. Lee was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Norfolk, Va., the only son of Thurston "Birdie" Hendrick and Maude Lee. He was educated in the Jersey City, N.J., public schools and attended Park College. Mr. Lee was a Navy veteran. His interests included reading, traveling and making friends. An employee of the Internal Revenue Service, he retired in 1973 after 30 years. Bertram was an active member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Montclair, N.J., where he was an altar boy and a faithful Christian. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1990 and faithfully attended Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church with his beautiful wife, Carrie Lee. Mr. Lee leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carrie Ford Lee; six stepchildren, Ronald Wright (Pearl), Leonard Wright (Marie), Frank Wright (Cathy), Ralph Wright, Linda Donnie (Andre), and Laura Frank; cousins, Virginia Hinton and Lelia Powell; adopted nephew, Robert Wagner; goddaughter, Merceda Nicholson (Dr. Theodore); special friends, Argie Moses and the Rev. Golden and Dr. Mary Alice Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
