Bertie Lee Keel JohnsonHartselleFuneral service for Bertie Lee Keel Johnson, 80, of Hartselle will be today, February 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Bates and the Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Johnson will be at the church one hour prior to the service.Mrs. Johnson, who died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at her home, was born September 23, 1930, in Morgan County to Douglas Bracken and Willie Mae Reeves Bracken. She was a homemaker and a member of New Center Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Austin and a brother, Charles Bracken.Survivors include her husband, George Velvet Johnson; two sons, Dewain Keel and wife, Sandy, and Doug Keel; three daughters, Fay Dutton and husband, George, Teresa Lackey and husband, Frankie, and Kasonyia Briggs and husband, Shannon, all of Hartselle; two stepsons, Mike Johnson and wife, Laura, of Trinity and Allen Johnson of Somerville; two brothers, Hoyt Bracken and wife, Carolyn, of Hartselle and Sherrill Dean Bracken and wife, Betty, of Decatur; one sister, Margaret Flannigan and husband, Junior, of Moulton; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeff Dutton, Chase Keel, Kody Vest, Chandler Briggs, Dalton Jenkins, Michael Briggs and Joey Jenkins will serve as pallbearers.
