LEE Bertha L. Lee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. She was born in Lakeland, FL to the late Edgar and Ethel Pickett. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla Burton. Mrs. Lee was a very active member of First Timothy Baptist Church, Rev. F. D. Newbill, pastor, where she served on the Deaconess Ministry, Advisor to the Young Missionaries and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She attended the public schools in Lakeland, FL. After graduating from high school she pursued a career in nursing. For over 30 years she worked as a nurse at various hospitals in New York City. Mrs. Lee was a happy person and enjoyed every minute of her spirit-filled life, and was never happier than when she shared her gift for designing dolls, crocheting, knitting and making various crafts. She leaves to cherish fond memories her lifetime love and husband of 58 years, Johnny Lee, one son, Gary Lee (Gladys), six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one brother, Edgar T. Pickett (Lena) of Lakeland, FL, two sisters, Claretha Pickett-Oates of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Mable Forney of Lakeland, FL; brothers-in-law, Robert Lee (Barbara) and Clyde Williams of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Louise Wiggins, and Ernestine Fudge; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at First Timothy Baptist Church, 12103 Biscayne Blvd., and Rev. Frederick D. Newbill officiating. Mrs. Lee may be viewed Friday, October 31st from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at her church and from 9:30 A.M. til the hour of the service. The cortege will assemble at 10:00 A.M., at 11579 Coral Ridge Ave. Interment will be in the Edgewood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to C. L. PAGE MORTUARY, INC. 3031 Moncrief Rd., CARLA L.
