CHAPMAN, Bertha Kaiser 88, died on Aug. 12, 2011 in Lake City. She was a native of Tampa. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and Hillsborough High School. She earned a degree in journalism at Hillsborough Community College. Bertha left Tampa to manage a newspaper in White Springs, FL and remained there for 30 years. She worked as a volunteer at the Stephen Foster Memorial and South Hamilton Elementary School in White Springs and was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City. Preceding her in death were her sons, Craig and Douglas (Jim) McCartney and her husband, D.K. (Chappy) Chapman. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta McCartney; grandchildren, Sybrian, Star, Tavia, Bryan, Celeste, Sarah and Charlene. Bertha also had many great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please donate to Sacred Heart Academy in Tampa in her memory. The family visitation will take place Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 from 9:30 am with Mass at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, 509 N. Florida Ave, Tampa.
