WILLIAMS Bernice Odessa Powell Williams, 86, was born October 20, 1928 and entered into her eternal reward on Thursday, January 1, 2015 surrounded by her children. Mrs. Williams was born in Chauncey, Georgia to Lewis and Lessie Powell where she lived until she met and married Edgar Williams on November 30, 1945, upon his return from active Navy duty. They were blessed with two children, Betty (Tom) Hanson and Eddie (Denise) Williams. Four grandchildren who she adored, Jill (Frank) Hanson, Jacinda (Stephen) Hance, Jacqueline (Stephen) Hogan and Julianna (Scott) Weech. Six great-grand children who brought her great joy, Zac Hogan, Rylan Hance, Hezekiah Weech, Jace Hance, Aubree Weech and Miles Hogan. She is also survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Odis and Irene Powell. Bernice was the ultimate homemaker, supporting her husband, and doting on her children and extended family. She was employed by W.T Grant, Blue Cross Blue Shield and finally Sears, from which she retired in 1994. She helped Edgar co-found the Thomas Creek Baptist Church in the Fall of 1973 by opening her home and teaching Sunday School in the den, then setting up the living room for Church Services in the early days. She was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ until she crossed over into heaven re-uniting with her husband of 69 years who preceded her in death on August 29, 2014. Mrs. Williams Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Thomas Creek Baptist Church, 54322 Janice Rd., Callahan, FL 32011.
