Bernice A. Jones 1914 - 2008 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. Bernice A. Jones, 94, passed away on March 29, 2008. She was born in Petersburgh on March 1, 1914, the daughter of Edward and Ida Brock Goodermote. She was a resident of the North Petersburgh-Hoosick area all of her life. Bernice was a farm wife and mother, who loved to entertain friends and family in her home. She was also a very talented seamstress. She was an active member of the Hoosick Baptist Church. Her husband, John E. Jones, whom she married May 14, 1932, died in 1976. She leaves a son, Warren D. Jones and his wife, Karen, of Ballston Spa; a daughter-in-law, Mary E. Jones of Hoosick, six grandchildren, Arnold, Ronald and Ikuko, Allison, Peter and Shannon, Hillary, and Evan Jones; four great-granddaughters, Katelyn, Natalie, Samantha, and Kai Jones; a sister, Marion Frost Hynick of Hoosick; a sister-in-law, Leona Goodermote of Potter Hill, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Arnold E. Jones; by two brothers, Lester and Earl Goodermote, and by a very beloved nephew, Martin Phillips. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Tuesday, April 1, at 2:30 p.m. from the Hoosick Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Baptist Church, the Hoosick Falls Health Center, or Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls, N.Y. 12090, which is handling the arrangements. The family would like to thank Bill Ely, a special neighbor and friend, and also the staff at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, and Rensselaer County Community Hospice, who were so kind to her and her family during her final illness.
