WILLIAMS -Bernard Eldon Keith Williams passed away at his residence, Hillcrest Place on Sunday, January 14, 2007. Barney was born in Oak Lake to parents, Thomas Edward and Hazel Williams on December 29, 1923. He received his education in Oak Lake and shortly after finishing Grade XII he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force serving overseas. Shortly after returning from overseas, he and his mother moved to Saskatoon to be closer to other family members. It was here he met and married Kathleen Stephens. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen; his parents; brother, Smith (Dorothy); and brother-in-law, Cecil Furtney. Bernie is survived by his wife, Yvonne; son, Ted (Coreen) and their family; son, Randy (Jen) and their son Trystyn; son, Ryan; daughter, Rennie (Rob) Hendry; son, Keagan; sister, Marguerite Furtney; and niece, Wendy Furtney. Also survived is Yvonne's family, Joyce Milne, Joan (Ian Moggach) and their families. Barney enjoyed his fishing and hunting trips with his friends and loved a game of golf. He also took great pleasure in his many canoe trips with the Boy Scouts. He was active in the Boy Scout Movement for over 25 years. Barney was a member of the Oak Lake Legion #079. Prior to retiring, he worked in real estate for over 25 years in Saskatoon. Funeral Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Interment took place in the veterans' section at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, #1, 613-10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4G6 or to a charity of choice.
