Bernadine Elizabeth Lewis, 77, of Second North River, passed away on November 12, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital. Bernadine was a daughter of the late Sanford and Jennie (McCormack) Stewart. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her home was a sanctuary for anyone in need. She is survived by her children Margaret Mayes, Judy Henley (Winston), Lovell (Jewel), Gilbert, Harrison (Christina), Valerie Lumsden, Sharon Reid, Kathleen Corey (Harold), David (Loren), Angela Matchett (Cecil) and Jewel Vautour (Dave); 27 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Predeceased by husband Clifford (1991); 3 grandsons Christopher and Michael Taylor and Randy Lumsden; sons-in-law Sandy Reid and Peter Mayes and several brothers and sisters. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 15 at 2 pm with Pastor Mark Hunter officiating. Interment will be at Monteagle Cemetery.
