->CLINTON -- Beatrice Louise Richardson of Clinton passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008, surrounded by her family at Cedar Ridge Center for Healthcare in Skowhegan. She was born in Stoneham, Mass., on April 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward Gordon and Bertha Louise (Priest) Barrett.Beatrice was baptized on July 26, 1941 at the 7th-day Adventist Church Sanitarium in Boston. She attended school at Union Springs Academy in Union Springs, N.Y., and received her nursing degree from the 7th-day Adventist New England Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing in Melrose, Mass. She was a dedicated member of the Waterville 7th-day Adventist Church and was very involved with many church activities. On May 5, 1957, Beatrice married Parker Leroy Richardson. Together the couple raised their children and shared many wonderful years until his passing on Sept. 15, 2003. She worked on the family farm and was a homemaker until her children were older, then she was employed as an LPN, as a charge nurse for Pleasant Hill Nursing Home in Fairfield for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her passions were her family and her church. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Nancy O'Doherty, in 2007.Beatrice will be sadly missed by her two sons, Stephen Blaine Richardson Sr., and his companion, Lorraine Wentworth of Clinton and David Alan Richardson and his wife, Cheryl, of Canaan; her brother, Edward Barrett of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Stephen Richardson II, Heather Richardson, Rebecca Dunton, Jacinth Richardson, Lawrence Wentworth, and Christopher Wentworth; and seven great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15. Burial will follow at Joy Cemetery in Clinton.
